About the Festival
Thangbi Mani is a four-day festival held at Thangbi Lhakhang, a temple in Bumthang's northern Kurje area at 2,730m, built by the 4th Shamar Rimpoche, Chhoki Drakpa (1453–1524), a Red Hat Karmapa master. The festival has been organized annually by residents of three neighboring villages — Thangbi, Goling, and Kharsath — as a display of the region's rich tradition and cultural heritage.
